I wrote a review for Ryan Trecartin and Lizzie Fitch's installation at the Rose Museum at Brandeis University for Big Red & Shiny. Read it! I think he is an artist finally able to poke holes into our virtual worlds using a youth-internet-texting vernacular. He's a hot mess. There is a beat poetics and high anxiety to the videos that I like, and a dark view of our hyper-reality that truly startles. Maybe I'm just being sensitive, but I hope thats the point.
