Hey Thursday... I think everyone was out of town. I know that 50% of the Lords of Oxford Street are out of town, because Matt, Phil and Ross are driving to California and back as if gas doesn't cost $4.20 a gallon. Ross, Matt and Phil say "fuck the economy." I got a picture text from Ross the other day of him holding a tumbleweed somewhere in Nevada or Utah. I wish I hadn't erased it, because I totally could have blogged it.

Anyway, we went out to Vegas Blvd as usual last night for some rousing conversation, some drinky drinky, and a little dance dance. It was a slow night, but still good to chat with JPrez, Emily O, Mike B; catch a glimpse of hot-boy Anthony take his shirt off; say hey to Katie Taylor and Fleury, Javier, Sanchez and some others.

Tonight we're going to an opening at La Motta Fine Art at 11 Whitney St. Tom and Jane Doyle, husband and wife art team are showing. Should be fun running around with the Prospect Ave connoisseur crowd. I want to meet one of the secret gays so he can take me out, woo me with luxury gifts and pay my bills.

Memorial Day Weekend

Ironically, I can't remember a better Memorial Day weekend than this one. In the past it has seemed like such a forgettable holiday, mostly because there is no exchanging of gifts or gratuitously ugly sweaters involved. I have realized now that Memorial Day is the first opportunity to grill and wearing white pants and shoes without fear of ostracizing is a freedom worth observing. God bless America!

On Saturday afternoon we went to Tony and Kristin's place on S. Whitney for a barbecue with other art school alums and friends from New York, Boston, and Rhode Island. It was a very relaxed, fun time, complete with beer pong and a shit-ton of macaroni salad.

After getting well and saucy I went to Dave Sinaguglia's party at his studio in Bristol. I was reluctant to go because I was having a nice time at Kristin and Tony's and the drive to Bristol is such a travail. However, the journey paid off because I wasn't the only one to make the trek, apparently. Dave's place was packed and the party was popping. The deserted factory is an ideal party spot. All kinds of illegal things could have been going down in other rooms and I wouldn't have any clue, however, I wouldn't have been surprised. DJ Rizla (Brian F) and DJ Dirty Sanchez played tons and tons of old school rap, dancehall, and recent R&B. The music was fabulous, the room was hot and smoky, and party people were getting sexy all over each other.
