TO: burgeoning young collectors...
Keep this Friday night open. My best friend Ross is mounting his first DIY solo show at the art school, where he's comandeered a second floor gallery without asking permission. On view will be a collection of photographs from his travels across America, featuring young bodies running wild, taking control and exploiting the landscape. He has a sensitive eye, a huge talent and even being so young I think he's great. He's coming up right in the thicke of this new young photographer trend, except that Ross is the best. Plus he's got at least a ten year advantage on Ryan McGinley- who by now is an old man and a sellout.
The opening reception is from 7:30-10pm on Friday night at the Hartford Art School at the University. Bring your chequebooks. Huge fucking private party to follow immediately afterwards but you'll need to be personally invited. Buying art guarantees an invitation to the party, but you should already know, thats just how the art world works.
