Last night I went to the Spigot for a couple beers so I could bask in the light of Adam Bulger for a few moments before he high-tails it out of here for New Jersey. He quit the Hartford Advocate to take a job at a new online newspaper somewhere in the metropolitan area. Adam is only the latest Hartford citizen to shake the miserable dust of this hell-hole off of his feet and make a break for it while the getting is good. Sadly we won't have anymore wise-guy Bulger celebrity interviews to look forward to in the Advocate or any of his hard-hitting investigative reporting. I wonder which unpaid intern they're going to promote to lead reporter now that Adam has left...

Maura H, sporting her must-have fashion accessory for fall, the clip-on koala bear. She's busting out of here in about a month to join Adam in New Jersey and take her old job back in Manhattan. Hartford gets lonelier and lonelier...Is anyone marching in the re-fashioned Hooker Day Parade revival? I think I'm going to go check it out.
