Last night we went out for steaks at the Fernwood Lounge in Elmwood, the best restaurant in Connecticut. It was some delicious steaks and the the ambiance was 30-40 years out of date. It was the dinner chapter of J's 21st birthday: the ongoing saga. Who knows what tonight has in store for little J? -Making his first foray into adulthood!
After dinner we went over to Monika Polska's place to bid adieu to Meljo Catalan, the nicest boy ever to relocate to Tokyo. He's en route to Japan as I write this. Mel and I agreed that this is not "goodbye," its "see you later." WPU interns are busily calculating travel expenses, cooking the books to find a way to send me to Japan for exclusive on-the-field foreign coverage.
Monika's place is the best decorated apartment of anyone I know around here, so I'm always happy to receive an invitation. The evening was a lovely little get-together, but my fucking camera batteries died, so I didn't get all the pictures I wanted. There are some serious omissions like Dave Dews, young Thomas, and others who should have been pictured. I blame cheap CVS store brand batteries.
